Friendship

God wants you to have friends.

The Christian life grows best in community. We best learn the Word of God together (Acts 8) and we best learn the Love of God together (Acts 4).

Most of us don’t learn friendship well.

We are supposed to see healthy friendship modeled for us in the relationship both with and between our father and mother: how to work as a team, how to have fun, how to resolve disagreements, etc.

Unfortunately, marriage has been devastated by the sexual revolution and with it the stability of our friendships and communities.

You can learn to be a good friend.

Just because you have trauma and isolation in your past doesn’t mean that you can’t learn to be a good friend; you can. In fact, you can learn to be an amazing friend, because when you study what doesn’t come naturally to you, you oftentimes learn to do it better than those who only learned by modeling.

This podcast is the study of friendship.

I’ve made a lot of mistakes in friendship. Like a lot, a lot. And by the grace of God, I have the richest community and circle of friends today than I could have ever hoped for. I hope and pray that this series encourages you in your journey of friendship and building community.
